Thank you for visiting my website. Sassyfras Boutique has been a labor of love. It is an opportunity to share my handpainted designs with you.
My hand painting on glass started as a hobby and a way to relax after work while satisfying my artistic nature. I started out designing and hand painting glasses just for myself. I soon started to get requests from friends and family to create unique wine glassware for them. As the requests grew, a new business venture was born! My business needed a name. My nickname (Sas) was given to me by my sister when I was a baby as she couldn't pronounce Sallyanne. I was called Sassyanne by my siblings and Sassyfras by my parents which eventually turned into Sas. (It's purely coincidence that my name rhymes with glass.) Naming my store Sassyfras Boutique is to honor my parents.
One of the main questions I generally get is "How long does it take you to paint one item?". That is hard to answer as each glass takes a period of 5 to 10 days to create due to the painting and layering effect. Some of the more detailed designs such as "Tattoo" is very time intense so I try to focus on their beauty and not think about the time involved. After the painting process there comes the drying and baking time. It's a slow process but I think it's worth the effort. Another question I get is, "Which glass is my personal favorite?". That's easy... it's the one I am working on at the moment!
Early 2013 I added a new product I created called Boot Blingy's. These are a unique and fun ladies fashion accessory that will alter the appearance of your own pair of boots and adds fun painted designs, studs and rhinestones. Boot Blingy's are easy to slip on and off. They make a really fun gift for yourself or a friend. You won't find these anywhere else! Be one of the first ones on the block to get!!
I hope you enjoy my designs as much as I enjoy creating them. Painting is my passion. If you like my style, please check back often as I have a million ideas and will keep adding new designs to my website.
My other passion is my two little dogs (Mitzi & Jessie) you see on my store front and the picture above. When I paint they are always at my side.
